Announcing The Resignation Of Our Camp Director

Well. the time has come that many were afraid would come. Randy Chesnut as resinged as camp director of Tri State Christian Camp & Retreat Center. His resignation did not surprise many of us who know Randy. His love a devotion to his family has been well documented over the years. His family have been the center of his life and now that his family is growing his time to depart has come. As many know Randy and Carrie have 8 children. 7 of them are married and have stared families of their own, which means grandkids. Many grandkids. Randy could start his own football team with his grandkids. At last count there were 12 or 13 I believe. And so as their family has grown so has their longing to be near them. Randy and Carrie have been great for Tri State Camp. Their love and dedication to the camp has resulted in tremendious change here. They will be missed. Officially, Randy’s last day as director was today, August 26th.

Randy has stepped away from the directors role here to go back to Missouri to help Jacob in his expanding business. Carrie and Hannah will be here until Thanksgiving and I am certain that Randy will pop in a time or two. Randy and I have served in camp ministry for a number of years. Their kids were little at the beginning andnow they are all adults. So I will miss my friend but we will certainly see each other again, both here on earth and in heaven. And as i watched him drive off the camp property today I realized that this has bee the third time we have said goodbye. But both times before we managed to find each other and work together servinf our Lord. TriState Christian Camp has been blessed by Randy and Carrie Chesnut and will continue to bless others because of them.

So let me finish by inviting you to a celebration openhouse on November 22nd here at the camp. There will be cake and ice cream and drinks as we all wish the fond farwell. Please mark your calendars for this day and joining the staff and trustees in saying thank you to the Chesnuts for a job well done.
